Hercules D. Logothetis, MD
Dr. Logothetis, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist. He completed a fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery at the Cleveland Eye Clinic under the mentorship of respected refractive surgeons Drs. William Wiley and Shamik Bafna. During his fellowship, he completed over 2,500 procedures including LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICL, KAMRA corneal inlay, PTK, corneal cross linking, conductive keratoplasty, intacs, refractive cataract surgery, YAG vitreolysis and multiple MIGS among others. He is one of the youngest SMILE surgeons in the U.S. and one of the first surgeons in the Midwest to work with the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens for implantation during cataract surgery. He was deeply involved in trials with the Light Adjustable Lens that allows for post cataracts surgery adjustment of refraction for the most accurate IOL outcomes available to date. He is experienced with multiple laser platforms including VISX, Allegretto, EX500 Wavelight, Nidek, Visumax, Zeimer, and Intralase. He presented and published numerous articles pertaining to refractive surgery and has been asked to speak at several meetings as an expert in refractive surgery. Having undergone refractive surgery himself, he is passionate about helping others improve their lifestyle through laser vision correction.
He is a member of several national organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), and the Refractive Surgery Alliance (RSA).
On a personal note, Dr. Logothetis lives in the northern suburbs with his wife and their two young sons.
