LASER VISION CORRECTION
Dr. Logothetis is a fellowship-trained Ophthalmologist who is considered an expert in refractive surgery. He has published and presented on various topics within refractive surgery. As a LASIK patient himself, Dr. Logothetis takes immense pride in being able to thoroughly educate patients regarding all refractive surgery options and providing them the best surgical experience possible.
Unlike many high volume LASIK centers, your surgeon will be with you from start to finish to assure the best possible outcome for this life changing procedure.
Call for your free screening. Dr Logothetis will educate you on all the options for vision correction surgery including SMILE which Dr. Logothetis has been performing since 2018, making him the earliest adopter of SMILE in the Chicagoland area.

Dr. Logothetis provides all forms of laser vision correction including LASIK, SMILE, PRK, and ICL.
Surgeries
LASIK
LASIK is the most recognized form of Laser Vision Correction; it is one of the safest and most effective surgical procedures performed today. LASIK uses a laser to reshape the top layer of the cornea, so that images focus correctly on the retina.
The most important part of your LASIK experience is that your surgeon completes a thorough preoperative evaluation of your eyes and your vision goals in order to confirm that you are a candidate for LASIK.
Prior to LASIK surgery, we perform several tests to determine the amount of correction needed. Dr. Logothetis is personally involved with your preoperative evaluation, surgical care, and postoperative visits.
During LASIK, our femtosecond LASIK laser creates a thin flap. The flap is then gently lifted to allow the excimer laser to adjust your prescription.
SMILE (minimally invasive laser vision correction)

SMILE (minimally invasive laser vision correction)
Performed on the Visumax® Femtosecond laser from ZEISS, SMILE (small incision lenticule extraction) is the newest addition of laser vision correction strategies available to our surgeons. Unlike LASIK, SMILE is completed with one laser and does not require the creation of a corneal flap.
Dr. Logothetis is one of the youngest SMILE surgeons in the U.S. and has been performing SMILE since 2018! He currently offers SMILE through Eye Centers of Kenosha’s Visumax laser.
PRK

PRK
Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) also known as Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) is an alternative treatment strategy for laser vision correction. PRK involves mechanically creating a scratch on the eye which then allows the middle of the cornea to be treated with laser. Outcomes with PRK are similar to LASIK and SMILE, however recovery time is longer. PRK is used in a minority of patients who are not good candidates for other procedures. Come in for a consultation with our surgeons to see what option is best for you!
ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)

ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)
Not all patients seeking glasses independence are candidates for corneal refractive surgery. The Visian ICL has been FDA approved for over 10 years and offers an excellent alternative to traditional corneal refractive surgery for those patients who qualify. Dr. Logothetis currently performs this procedure at the surgical suite at Sharpe Vision Modern LASIK in Chicago’s Oldtown neighborhood.
Dr. Logothetis is one of few surgeons in the Chicagoland area that implant the Visian® ICLTM from STARR Surgical.
